When you're not a natural builder, helping your little kids who are with their Lego sets can be SO. CONFUSING.—and Chrissy knows all about it. In this recent tweet, our fave celeb mom basically says what we're all thinking when we help our kids build their Lego: did we f*ck this up? Just a heads up, Lego sets DO tend to come with a few extra pieces so don't fret, we like to think that those little extras are basically just there for you to accidentally step on later (OUCH!). Better go get some slippers!
Photo: @chrissyteigen via TwitterYou’d think that being a celebrity, Chrissy’s baby weight would just magically melt away, right? Well the queen of relatability wants you to know that she’s 20 pounds heavier since giving birth to her son Miles and is totally happy with her “new normal.” Her explanation? She just loves food too much (us too, Chrissy!). She also went on to tweet about how she was at her thinnest when she was dealing with postpartum depression after having Luna following it up with: “I’LL TAKE THESE POUNDS AND THIS FEELING!” If Chrissy can love her post-baby body, so can we, right?
Photo: @chrissyteigen via TwitterChrissy faced pressure working as second-in-command to Chef Luna! She posted some adorable videos on Twitter of the two-year-old pointing in the distance at an ingredient she needed, but Chrissy failed to find the right item (We love her caption: “she’s tough but she’s fair”). Even her followers were left wondering what Luna could have possibly wanted, but in the end Chrissy said she still had no idea. We’ve totally been there! Bonus: We love that Luna’s chef outfit of choice was a princess costume. Too cute!
Photo: @ChrissyTeigen via TwitterWhile a lot of celebrities might keep their helmeted babies away from the world, Chrissy isn’t one to shy away from sharing her life. In early December 2018, she tweeted, “baby miles getting fitted for a little helmet today for his adorable slightly misshapen head. so if you see pictures, don’t feel bad for him because he’s just fixing his flat and honestly he’s probably gonna be even cuter with it somehow.” She then shared the cutest picture of him in his helmet sparking Twitter to start a full thread of adorable photos of babies in helmets. You go Chrissy, thanks for showing folks that a baby in a helmet isn’t something to pity—it’s actually quite common!

Photo: @chrissyteigen via TwitterParenting is not easy, and usually your worst moments involve puke. Chrissy can definitely relate. Chrissy tweeted that Luna’s school orientation was quite rough—not because of first day jitters but thanks to a combination last night’s wine, Korean BBQ and jet lag. “Hello everyone from Luna’s school orientation today. I’m sorry I projectile puked caffeine upon arrival, couldn’t open my eyes and had the noisiest newborn in the room. (not a joke, very sorry, see you tomorrow),” she tweeted to her followers. Oh Chrissy, you are simply the best!
They don’t call it liquid gold for nothin’. Chrissy recently spilt some breastmilk on what appears to be the kitchen counter and tweeted out two back-to-back videos of her trying to suck it up with a dropper and put it back in the bottle. One video was captioned “EVERY DROP COUNTS IN THIS HOUSE” while the other says “I am so jealous of people with plentiful boobies.” Like a lot of other nursing moms, it looks like she may be dealing with low milk supply. These might help if you are, too.
Photo: @chrissyteigen via TwitterYou know how once you’re a mom, you can never pee in peace again? Chrissy really felt that on June 16 when she tweeted “I was just forced to play badminton while sitting on the toilet, peeing. Kids are fun.” She then followed up the tweet with a picture.
Photo: Chrissy Teigen via TwitterShe’s back at it again with the funny tweets. Chrissy recently shared that she’s gained some pregnancy weight and took it upon herself to become an advocate for the “buttless” moms. “Up 40 pounds and not one ounce went to my butt. please stop shaming the buttless, we are trying,” she tweeted. LOL. After receiving many comments, she responded to her previous tweet shortly after. “Just a heads up that when a preggo says what they’ve gained, you can only share what you gained if it’s more. Not less. THEMS THE RULES.” That’s right, non-preggos—follow the rules!
Photos: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterPregnancy isn’t all cute bump photos and that enviable glow. During her second pregnancy, Chrissy shared what most moms-to-be are probably thinking. She tweeted, “This baby is sucking the life from me. Drinking my water, making me dry. Eating my food, making me hungry. Taking my health, making me sick. Why do we create these monsters? They want us dead.” Truth.
Sometimes the struggle is real, especially when is comes to pulling tights up over a growing baby bump. Luckily, Chrissy’s husband, John Legend, stepped in to help her out while she shimmied into her leggings.
Chrissy had a hilarious “mom” moment when she realized that Luna has some interesting bathroom habits. “Hiding-while-pooping is my favourite thing about toddlers. I didn’t know it was a thing before kids. She creates a small, gated community or fort and you may not look at or speak to her for 10 to 15 minutes. She will call for you, but it is a trick. You may not look,” she tweeted. She then proceeded to share a video of the moment, where you can hear Chrissy calling a hiding Luna, to which the tot simply replies, “No.” Toddlers are strange, lovable creatures, and we wouldn’t change those little weirdos for the world.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterPregnancy headaches—need we say more? Chrissy tweeted about how she is in love with pregnancy but not the headaches that come along with it. If witchcraft doesn’t work out for you, we’ve got some helpful info on how to deal with headaches during pregnancy.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterSometimes there’s that one age we wish our kids could stay in forever. For Chrissy Teigen, it’s 18 months for her daughter, Luna. She shared this cute video of Luna repeating all the words she says and captioned it with “I am living for this age. Give me all the 18-month-olds.” We feel you, C.T. We feel you.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via InstagramWhen you’re done carrying a baby for nine months, your body has new marks to pay tribute to the amazing thing it just did. The always-real Chrissy reminded us that even celebrities get stretch marks after pregnancy (they are human, after all). She Snapchatted this photo after giving birth to Luna, with the caption “Lol my thighs have tributaries.”
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via SnapchatThere are some things you just don’t say to a pregnant woman because hormones. Some may say that Chrissy overreacted slightly when someone on Twitter told her to be “the bigger person,” but you need to be extra-sensitive to a pregnant woman’s feelings. Here are 13 other things not to say to a pregnant woman. Consider yourselves warned—and also just don’t ever make any size comments to her.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterEven the constantly hilarious model has had her fair share of inner struggles, and she sat down with Glamour to open up about her postpartum depression after Luna was born. “I just didn’t think it could happen to me. I have a great life. I have all the help I could need. But postpartum does not discriminate.” This was just one of the many relatable struggles that Chrissy experienced, and we love her even more for sharing this with the world. Read Chrissy Teigen’s open letter about her postpartum depression.
What better push present to buy yourself than an irrigation bottle? You know, for that thrilling, postpartum perineal cleaning.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterIt’s been said that with baby #2, your body might start to show your bump differently/earlier on in the pregnancy because it’s more prepared, and Chrissy is no exception. “I promise I am not as far along in this pregnancy as I look!,” she tweeted. “I curse the times I ever said ‘so-and-so seems like she has been pregnant forever!’ because that is now gonna be you guys with me for sure.” We diasgree—you are totally ROCKING pregnancy, girl, don’t let anyone tell you any differently!
When you have a baby, life as you knew it pre-baby is pretty much gone. That means no more late nights, date nights and alone time. That includes going to the Grammys with your husband—Chrissy shared this funny snap after arriving home from the awards, captioned, “Mom and dad home by 10:30!” Yup, sounds about right.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterThere are few things more difficult than installing a car seat properly, and Chrissy has felt that pain now. But before giving birth she wondered: “There is absolutely no way that labor is harder than installing a car seat, i just refuse to believe it. if it is, i give up.” Why is it so damn difficult?!
Speaking of car seats, when you DO finally get it right, you are so damn proud that you just want to share it with the world. A follower praised Chrissy for her bravery, saying “So brave of you to post a car seat picture..these are sanctimommy’s fave things to criticize on” to which Chrissy replied, “oh trust me, I looked at that chest plate for 10 minutes before posting!” Yep, we’ve all been there.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterIn her “73 questions with Vogue” segment, Chrissy said the best thing about being a mom is “number 1: taking the photos and number 2: hearing all [of] her [daughter’s] new words.” She also said the hardest thing about being a mom is “waking up super early.” WE FEEL YOU, CHRISSY.
Photo: Courtesy of @voguemagazine via TwitterNowadays, naming your baby might almost be more stressful than labour and pregnancy itself. Is it too unusual? Is it meaningful? Is it trendy? Well, it looks like the struggle is real for Chrissy and John because it doesn’t look like any of these unisex names made the cut.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterUgly, shapeless maternity clothes—need we say more? The ever-stylish Chrissy asked Twitter for an honest opinion of this red romper: “Cute for my pregnant ass or really horrific either way?” LOL. We kind of like it.
No two pregnancies are alike, and people usually say that their second and third pregnancies are almost always different from their first—and Chrissy’s second is no different. She tweeted a series of concerned questions to her followers, wondering whether or not it’s normal that she is gaining weight faster the second time around. It is normal, Chrissy. Check out these 7 things you need to know about your second pregnancy.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterKids do the darndest things—am I right? Chrissy had one of those “aha” parenting moments when she found what Luna was pushing around in her baby stroller in place of a doll. “Finding random stuff like this makes me happy. Best part of having kids,” she tweeted. Sometimes it’s best not to question it and just roll with your kid’s wild imagination.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterWhen you’re pregnant for the first time and blissfully ignorant of what birth is actually like, there are many things people don’t tell you (it’s for the best, really). One of them is perineal tearing, which is using an irrigation bottle to clean your lady bits afterwards, along with this (almost always) guaranteed outcome that Chrissy experienced. “No one told me I would be coming home in diapers, too,” she tweeted after Luna’s birth. Yep, adult diapers are a very real thing postpartum. Sorry, Chrissy!
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterSpeaking of adult diapers, when asked (more recently) about whether she has worn them or thought about it by a Twitter follower, she simply replied, “Yes and yes.” Always keepin’ it real, Chrissy.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterDuring storytime, sometimes you gotta keep things interesting to keep your kids engaged. Chrissy went with a song-like rap for a remixed version of “Barnyard Dance,” and Luna seems to be living for it as she dances along. Parenting win? We think so.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via InstagramLet’s face it: Dressing toddlers is a real struggle, and sometimes you gotta just give in and let them choose their own outfits. In this case, it seems like Luna fancies her pink Crocs sandals, and Chrissy had something to say about the fashion choice. “Yea, they’re Crocs, OK, she likes them.” Convenience wins over fashion when it comes to kids. We totally get it, Chrissy.
Flying while pregnant can be a real pain in the you know what. When Chrissy and John got stuck on a “flight to nowhere” for eight hours, she wasn’t having it. These were a couple of tweets among many that kept her followers updated every few minutes. We particularly like the “skin runneth over my compression socks” part. Hilarious.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterAfter a long, hard day of parenting struggles and work-related stress, parents sometimes find comfort in hearing other parents’ failures. It seems like Chrissy was having a moment where all she needed to feel better was to hear her followers’ stories of their kids being mean to them. Classic.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterBedtime takes forever in the Teigen-Legend house, too! Chrissy tweeted this adorable photo of Luna and some stuffed friends with the caption “Bedtime is starting to take a lot longer. There are so many things that must be put to sleep in their own special ways.”
Even when you’re a celebrity, your ideal “me-time” moments are still the same as other moms. For Chrissy, an empty grocery store is the ultimate dream.
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterIt’s no surprise that life changes after you have kids. Chrissy hilariously captioned this photo from her Sports Illustrated modelling days to her life now as a mom: “The evolution of Chrissy throughout Sports Illustrated years: feelin sexy x 7 years to…sleepy, confused mom lol.” Aren’t we all just sleepy, confused moms?
Photo: Courtesy of @chrissyteigen via TwitterAll of your senses are heightened when you’re pregnant, and even the most mediocre things—like sneezing—can be, well, a very good time. Enjoy yourself, girl!
