The most adorable photos from Princess Charlotte's baby years

On April 23, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their third child—Prince Louis. Prince George and Princess Charlotte went to the hospital to visit their baby brother and it’s safe to say Charlotte stole the show with her sweet wave to the adording crowds. 

Charlotte was extremely cute and stylish for her first day of nursery school on January 8, 2018. Before heading off to school, Kate snapped these photos of her two-year-old daughter on the steps of Kensington Palace. Charlotte’s favourite colour is pink so of course she chose a pink polka dot backpack.

William, Kate, George and Charlotte wished everyone a very happy holiday with this Christmas card in 2017. Dressed in matching blue, the family looked picture perfect, but as usual it was Charlotte who stole the show with her adorable crouched pose and little grin. 

In July 2017, the Cambridges embarked on a mini tour of Poland and Germany and it was clear right from the beginning that Charlotte was going to be the center of attention. From her adorable little waves to the crowds to her stylish smocked dresses, no one was to immune to the sweet princess.

When the family landed in Berlin, Charlotte was given her first royal bouquet and the little princess was quite enchanted by the flowers. As she walked to the waiting car, she kept smelling the blooms. 

As the family prepared to head home after their tour, Charlotte couldn’t contain her excitement and was literally jumping on the tarmac. Could she be any cuter? 

Prince George isn’t the only one who loves helicopters and planes. Before the family left Germany, they got to explore a helicopter and Charlotte was clearly delighted to go inside the vehicle. 

When Pippa Middleton got married, she made sure both her niece and nephew were included in the wedding. Prince George was a pageboy and Princess Charlotte was a bridesmaid—and they both stole the show with their cuteness. As Charlotte entered the church she turned back to give a bit of side eye to the cameras. 

Charlotte must have been getting a bit hungry after Auntie Pippa’s wedding because she was seen licking her flower basket. Someone get this girl a scone! 

Charlotte seemed a bit overwhelmed after the ceremony, but Kate was quick to kneel down and comfort her daughter. Can we all take a minute to admire Charlotte’s amazing flower crown! 

Look how long her hair is! Kate and William shared this adorable picture of Charlotte ahead of her second birthday on May 2. The photo was taken in April by Kate at the family’s country home, Anmer Hall. Doesn’t Chrlotte look like such a country girl in her knitted sheep sweater. 

Charlotte was pretty excited on Christmas morning—I mean look at that face! Charlotte, along with Kate, William, George, granny Carole, grandpa Michael, Uncle James and Auntie Pippa all went to church on Christmas morning in 2016. Charlotte and George were so good during the service that they got candy canes. 

As the Cambridges landed in Victoria for the start of their royal tour in 2016, Charlotte slyly reached over to grab Kate’s heirloom maple leaf broach. Smart kid! 

The trip to Canada was Charlotte’s very first royal tour and she was a wee bit overwhelmed by all the attention. Thankfully mummy Kate was there to comfort her. And can we talk about how cute Charlotte’s signature bow is? 

Princess Charlotte attended her very first royal engagement while she was in Canada—a children’s party. When Charlotte arrived, she was quick to race away from William and Kate to check out all the fun. She was in love with the balloons and was heard yelling “pop,” while trying to lift the archway. 

We’d seen Charlotte in public a handful of times, but this was the first time we saw her adorable grin! It was worth the wait. This little girl clearly loves balloons. 

Charlotte loved all the animals at the party—a dog named Moose, ponies and of course this bunny named Smores. 

After exploring the petting zoo, Charlotte and Kate checked out the musician. Kate helped Charlotte sway to the music and encouraged her to play her little tambourine. 

Kate was given a bouquet of flowers before the family boarded their plane to leave Victoria. Charlotte was quick to lean in and take a sniff. 

Princess Charlotte was very excited to see all the people who came to wave bye to her at the end of the Canada tour in 2016.

Charlotte looked a bit upset at the end of the Canada tour—maybe she wanted to stay! You’re welcome here anytime little cutie!

Charlotte has already mastered the royal wave! She gave a sweet wave to all the people who came to say goodbye to her and her family. And can we talk abotu her adorable cheeks? 

In June 2016, Charlotte got to attend her first Trooping the Colour—the official celebration of the Queen’s birthday. Charlotte was too cute in a pink smock dress waving to the Royal Air Force flypast. Oh, and she was also trying to steal her mum’s diamond necklace. 

For Charlotte’s first birthday, on May 2, William and Kate released four new photos of the royal cutie. She looks like she’s having some deep thoughts—do I want mushed peas or mushed sweet potatos for dinner? 

In one of her birthday snaps, Princess Charlotte is showing off her walking skills. Mum Kate took this photo of Charlotte walking on the grounds of Anmer Hall—which is where the Cambridges live most of the time. We love how determined Charlotte looks. William says she’s already a good football player. 

In April 2016, the Queen turned 90 and marked the occassion with a photo of her and her youngest grandchildren and all her great-grandchildren. This up-close shot gives you an adorable look at 10-month-old Charlotte. Her hair has gotten so long and blonde (she looks just like her dad). Love her sweet bow and the adorable M&H dress.

Charlotte seemed quite excited to experience snow for the first time. The Cambridges went on a ski vacation in the French Alps and shared some sweet snaps with the world. And Charlotte got to show off her first teeth and an awesome hat from Johnstons of Elgin.

When Prince George was born, both Kate and William held him outside the hospital. But only Kate held Charlotte when she made her debut. And in all other official pictures, Kate is always holding Charlotte. So this photo from the Cambridges’ ski vacation is quite special because we got to see just Charlotte and dad Wills. Charlotte is looking more like her daddy, they have the same eyes. 

The Cambridges gave us a special Christmas treat—they released their first holiday card. Charlotte wore the same dress and sweater she wore for her portrait a few weeks earlier. But this time she was missing a shoe. She’s a modern day Cinderella.

When Charlotte was six months old, William and Kate released two new photos of their little girl. And of course Kate took the photos. This one of Charlotte with her stuffy is just too cute to handle. Charlotte had grown so much since the last time we saw her—she’s sitting up. And she looks like such a little lady in her M&H dress.

In July 2015, we finally got a new photo of Charlotte after two long months without any pictures of the royal cutie. For her christening, the little princess was wearing the royal family’s heirloom gown and was pushed in a pram by mum Kate to the church. She looks so much like Kate here—especially in the eyes.

After the christening, the royal family went back to the Queen’s Norfolk estate for tea and cake. And photos! Mario Testino took this shot of Charlotte and Kate. Lottie looks a little unsure of things—get used to all the attention, kid. But Kate looks so besotted with her little girl. Love!

Sorry, just one more photo from the christening. Charlotte may be a princess, but she’s also a baby who just wants to sleep (or eat!) instead of have her photo taken. Look at her little fist. And that disgruntled face.

When Princess Charlotte was just a few weeks old, mum Kate took these photos of Lottie and big brother, George. Four photos were released, but this one of George giving Charlotte a kiss is by far the sweetest. And look at those cheeks—clearly they run in the family.

Princess Charlotte was born at 8:34 in the morning on May 2. And later that day, the Princess of Cambridge made her grand debut outside the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital. Charlotte was wrapped in a G.H. Hurt and Son blanket and wore a yellow bonnet that matched Kate‘s Jenny Packham dress. William and Kate were all smiles as they showed off their baby girl.

Despite the fact that the world was watching, Charlotte slept blissfully through her big debut. Then dad put her in the car seat and carried her to the car to take her back to Kensington Palace. Two days later, William and Kate revealed that their little girl was named Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
