Dating with kids is a special kind of dating, and if or when you finally decide it's time to get hitched, getting the children involved in the proposal is pretty much par for the course. However, when Michigan resident Kevin Przytula wanted his girlfriend Allyssa's young son, Owen, to be there for the big moment, we're not sure he pictured it going down like this.
In a hilarious video uploaded to YouTube, you can see Kevin dropping to one knee just as Owen drops trou. Yep, Owen straight-up pulled down his pants and decided to pee on the ground right when the proposal happened. Priceless, right? Take a look:
Now, most parents of little kids know that they'll often do the silliest things at the most inopportune moments, so while this clip is pretty dang funny, it wasn't that surprising for the happy couple. According to a local news report, it turns out that Owen was in the middle of potty training, so we guess this is a good sign that he knows when he needs to go (that's progress, right?). "This is our everyday life, that's what we deal with on a daily basis," Kevin told the local news.
"I just started laughing, this is what Owen does," said Allyssa. "The potty training is still a work in progress—it's only been a month, so he thinks is really cool to pee outside."
And to be fair, he DID warn them about what he was going to do at the very beginning of the clip saying, "I'm gonna pee outside!" And when his mom says "Are you serious?" (in response to Kevin going down on one knee), you can hear Owen mutter a quick "yeah" as he climbs down from the fountain.
On the flip side, we get why the couple may not have heard his warning. Proposals are a pretty BIG deal—you're filled with nerves and excitement, not paying attention to your surroundings as you work up the courage to just do it. So congrats to the happy couple, and here's hoping you don't have an outdoor wedding, just in case Owen, the ring bearer, decides to create another set of golden rings on the floor.
