The Duke and sparkling Duchess of Cambridge attend their first formal event since the birth of Prince George.
And Kate Middleton makes another appearance — this time in sparkles!
We knew today, September 12, was the day she and Prince William would attend their first formal event together since the birth of Prince George — the Tusk Conservation Awards, at The Royal Society in London. But we didn't expect sparkles.
The Duchess went all out!
Walking into the event on a zebra-print red carpet, Kate sparkled in a stunning silver-sequin, floor-length gown by her favourite go-to designer, Jenny Packham, and matching Jimmy Choos.
"This is our first evening out without him [Prince]," Prince William said at the event. "Please excuse us if you see us nervously casting surreptitious glances at mobiles."
Prince William presented two awards at the event — one of which was a lifetime achievement award entitled "The Prince William Award" for Conservation in Africa.
Of course, Africa is dear to the royal couple's heart: Not only has it been the focus of William's conservation efforts, inspired by his father, but it's also the place he proposed to Kate — at a private lodge on safari in Kenya.
While this is Kate's first formal event since the birth of her baby boy, it's not the first time we've seen her out and about. She was spotted grocery shopping in Anglesey and surprise co-hosting island's Ring of Fire marathon.
