If there’s anything that I’ve learned about being a first-time parent, it’s to embrace each milestone with an open mind. When our daughter Naomi turned five months old, we started her on solids. When I found out I was pregnant with my second daughter, it was what I like to think of as a “later in life pregnancy.” (My doctor uttered the words “geriatric pregnancy” for the first and last time in my hearing that day.)
