Netflix Canada has announced which new kids’ TV shows and movies it will be adding to its lineup in January 2019. Lots for older kids, not quite as much for the little ones this time around. Read on for details.
But first, an important note: The age recommendations offered below are approximate. Every kid is different, and you’re the best judge of what’s appropriate and what your kid can handle.

The Incredibles 2
Best for: Ages 7+
Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) is left to care for the kids while Helen (Elastigirl) is out saving the world. Available Jan. 30

A Series of Unfortunate Events (season 3)
Best for: Ages 8+
In the series’ third and final act, the Baudelaires will stop at nothing to solve the mysteries of the VFD and end Count Olaf’s relentless pursuit. Available Jan. 1

The Karate Kid Part II
Best for: Ages 10+
Daniel accompanies his mentor, Mr. Miyagi, to Miyagi’s childhood home in Okinawa. Miyagi visits his dying father and confronts his old rival, while Daniel falls in love and inadvertently makes a new rival of his own. Available Jan. 1

Pinky Malinky
Best for: Ages 5+
Pinky Malinky sees the bright side of everything, including being born a hot dog. With his BFFs in tow, this little wiener takes a bite out of life. Available Jan. 1

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Best for: Ages 11+
Four best girlfriends hatch a plan to stay connected with one another as their lives start off in different directions: they pass around a pair of secondhand jeans that fits each of their bodies perfectly. Available Jan. 1

Solo: A Star Wars Story
Best for: Ages 9+
During an adventure into the criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his future co-pilot Chewbacca and encounters Lando Calrissian years before joining the Rebellion. Available Jan. 9

Daddy Day Care
Best for: Ages 7+
Two men get laid off and have to become stay-at-home dads when they can’t find jobs. This inspires them to open their own day-care center. Available Jan. 1

Carmen Sandiego
Best for: Ages 6+
Carmen Sandiego returns in this series that follows her new international capers as well as past escapades that led to her becoming a super thief. Available Jan. 18

Trolls: The Beat Goes On! (season 5)
Best for: Ages 5+
This season, the trolls get lost in wormholes, journey to the Fountain of Glitter, go for a ride in a submarine, play in the snow and more. Available Jan. 18

Marvel Studio’s Ant-Man and the Wasp
Best for: Ages 11+
As Scott Lang balances being both a Super Hero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past. Available Jan. 29
