12 kids’ movies and shows coming to Netflix Canada in December 2018

Netflix Canada has announced which new kids' TV shows and movies it will be adding to its lineup in December 2018. Plenty of holiday specials, as should be expected for this time of year, but lots more, too (like Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle! And Avengers: Infinity Wars for the older kids!). Read on for details.

But first, an important note: The age recommendations offered below are approximate. Every kid is different, and you're the best judge of what's appropriate and what your kid can handle.

Free Rein: The Twelve Neighs of Christmas

Best for: Ages 7+ As Bright Fields preps for its Mistletoe Ball, a broken ornament leads Zoe to a family secret, while Gaby finds herself at the mercy of new boss Mia. Available Dec. 7

Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle

Best for: TBD Acclaimed actor and director Andy Serkis reinvents Rudyard Kipling’s masterpiece, in which a boy who would become a legend, wants nothing more than to find a home. Torn between two worlds, that of the jungle and that of humankind, Mowgli must navigate the inherent dangers in each on a journey to discover who he really is. Available Dec. 7

Fuller House (season 4)

Best for: Ages 9+ The Tanner-Fuller-Gibblers are back with big laughs. DJ and Steve rekindle their flame—and a new member of the family is on the way! Available Dec. 13

Prince of Peoria: A Christmas Moose Miracle

Best for: Ages 5+ Teddy's never missed the Festival of Lights, but the bowling alley’s been snowed in! Not to worry—Emil insists the Christmas moose will save the day. Available Dec. 14

Voltron: Legendary Defender (season 8)

Best for: Ages 7+ A team of teenagers continues to work together, fighting the forces of evil amid an epic intergalactic battle to protect the universe. Available Dec. 14

Dolphin Tale

Best for: Ages 6+ This 2011 family drama centres around the friendship between a boy and a dolphin whose tail was lost in a crab trap. Available Dec. 15

Paddington

Best for: Ages 5+ A young Peruvian bear travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he meets the kindly Brown family, who offer him a temporary haven. Available Dec. 16

Best for: Ages 12+ The Avengers and their allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe. Available Dec. 25

Mary and the Witch's Flower

Best for: Ages 7+ Young Mary follows a mysterious cat into the nearby forest and discovers an old broomstick and the strange Fly-by-Night flower, a rare plant that blossoms once every seven years. Together, the flower and the broomstick whisk Mary above the clouds, and far away to Endor College, a school of magic. But there are terrible things happening at the school, and when Mary tells a lie, she must risk her life to try and set things right. Best for: Ages 9+ For best friends Alexa and Katie, sophomore year brings budding romance, a major breakup, a birthday milestone—and big lessons they'll never forget. Available Dec. 26

Last call!

Every month, as new movies and shows get added to Netflix, some get taken away. It's bad this month, friends, as two excellent movies—Moana and Hidden Figures—will be removed from Netflix Canada. Wahhhh!
