Happy birthday, Prince Louis!

Prince William and Duchess Kate's youngest child celebrates his second birthday on April 23, and royals fans were treated to sweet new portraits of the growing boy.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released four new photos of their youngest son on April 22, and they feature the little boy getting covered in rainbow paint! Louis was likely making handprint art to honour health care workers in the United Kingdom, who are busy fighting the coronavirus. Just like his first birthday portraits, they were also taken by Kate!

The first sees Louis reaching playfully toward the camera, his hands covered in paint. The second is a shot of his handprint art. The third features the little boy playfully gesturing with his hands next to his face and the fourth sees him smiling brightly off toward something or someone. A fifth photo not included in the post on the Cambridges' Instagram account features him reaching toward the camera, his paint-covered hands totally obscuring his face. So much fun!

He's also grown so much! The new portraits highlight how much has changed in comparison to the adorable photos from his first birthday. On April 22, 2019, three sweet portraits of the prince were released. The images, which were also shared on the Kensington Royal Instagram, showed the one-year-old crawling through the forest near the Cambridge family's country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.

The tender photos were taken by his proud mom, Kate!

Royals fans last saw Louis on March 26, when he and his elder siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, appeared in a clapping video in support of NHS workers, who are bravely battling the coronavirus pandemic.

People couldn't believe how grown-up Louis was in the video, and they will likely feel the same way when seeing his second birthday portraits.

This time of year has many milestones for the Royal Family. Louis's great-grandmother, the Queen, celebrated her 94th birthday on April 21. His mom and dad, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, also mark their ninth wedding anniversary on April 29!

Like all of us, the family might not be able to celebrate their birthdays and anniversaries together in their normal ways because of COVID-19 lockdowns and social distancing, but they're still finding ways to keep in touch and send many happy returns.

With Her Majesty and Prince Philip self-isolating at Windsor Castle and the Cambridges staying at their country home of Anmer Hall, it is said Louis, Charlotte and George have been sending their great-grandmother "chatty videos" as a way to stay in touch! We bet there were many happy conversations this week!
