Kensington Palace has confirmed that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is in labour! Kate was admitted at 6 a.m. (London time) to St. Mary's Hospital with Prince William by her side. Of course, the royal family took to Twitter (like last time) to announce the big news...
So yes, let the excitement begin! Here's what to expect over the next few hours.
Kate had a natural birth with Prince George and will likely try for the same with Royal Baby No. 2. The OBGYN who delivered George has retired, so her doctor this time is AlanFarthing, the Queen's surgeon-gynecologist.
Once the baby is born, the couple's family will be notified first. And then a press release will be sent out with the baby's gender, time of birth and weight. Two minutes later Kensington Palace's Twitter and Instagram account will reveal the big news. Finally, the birth will be announced in the traditional royal way on an easel outside Buckingham Palace.
We might have to wait a long couple of hours for the birth announcement because if the baby is born between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. London time, the announcement will not be made until after 8 a.m.
Love!
