This morning, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed a baby girl. Welcome to the sweet new Princess of Cambridge.
Hooray! Not only is the royal baby finally here, but it's a girl!
Kensington Palace announced that Kate and William welcomed a baby girl at 8:34 this morning. She weighed 8lbs 3oz. William was, of course, there for the birth. And both mom and baby are doing well.
Kate arrived at St Mary's Hospital at 6 a.m., and the baby was born just two-and-a-half hours later. Talk about a quick labour.
Here's the birth notice before it goes on the easel at Buckingham Palace!
So what's next? It's expected big brother George will arrive for a visit later today (hello, cuteness). And then the new Princess of Cambridge will make her debut potentially later today if Kate's feeling up to it. But we likely won't get a name until tomorrow or Monday. So the waiting continues.
Congratulations William and Kate, we're so thrilled for you.
