The royal baby's title: Revealed
The royal baby's title has been announced, and it's the big one we were waiting for! Plus, speculations on the baby's name.
Kate Middleton and Prince William haven't shared the baby's name or sex (they apparently do know if it's a boy or girl), but we now know the baby's title! And not surprisingly, it's a big one.
"The royal couple's child will officially be known as His or Her Royal Highness Prince or Princess of Cambridge," a Kensington Palace rep has confirmed.
"Considering the fact that dad and mom are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, it's not exactly a shocker that their little one should take the surname," E! Online notes. "What is unique, though, is that this royal baby will be the first ever Prince or Princess of Cambridge." And that's apparently a great honour.

This exciting announcement confirms Queen Elizabeth II's change of King George V's decree, which stated all daughters were to be called "ladies," not "princesses," and sons would be called "princes."
As for the name itself, I was on the show ETalk last Friday. Did you see my segment on baby names? I got to speculate on all the whacky celeb baby names we're seeing right now, as well as on what the royal baby's name might be. Elizabeth or Alexandra are my first picks for a girl; for a boy, it'll likely be George, after Colin Firth the Queen's father, King George VI. They won't name the baby Diana -- too controversial and might be construed as disrespectful to Prince Charles and Camilla. But they may give her Diana's middle name, Frances (but not as the first name). What do you think?

ONE MORE THING: I hear they're going to light up the CN Tower pink if it's a girl or blue if it's a boy -- for eight minutes. There will be events like this all over the world. What are they going to do to celebrate the royal baby's arrival in your area?
