Michael Bublé: I sing to him every night

Michael Bublé has a new gig! Our favourite Canadian crooner is lending his voice to lullabies these days — for new baby Noah and wife Luisana Lopilato, at home in Vancouver.

"I sing to him all day and all night," Michael tells the hosts of the new Canadian talk show The Social, via webcam (according to Us Weekly). "When he's crying with somebody else and I hold him and I sing to him, he just stops. It's really cool. The songs I'm singing are not my hits — that's for sure. My No. 1 go-to right now is 'Down by the Bay.'"

And like our favourite royal dad, Michael's been honing his diaper-changing skills lately: "I've become a master at changing poopy diapers," he laughs. "And I can swaddle. I enjoy being swaddled myself!" Ha!

On the more serious side, Michael says he's embracing fatherhood full on. "It's the greatest thing that could ever happen," he shares. "You can't explain it until it happens; it's like telling somebody what water feels like before they've ever swum in it."

But, he admits, when he first met Noah, he "didn't have that overwhelming feeling of love."

"I'm being honest with you. I'd heard all of these stories about how this moment was life-changing, but it wasn't like that for me," Michael continues. "I was nervous for my wife, and I was happy that he was healthy . . . but that day, it was like meeting a stranger. I think that next night, it really clicked. I was looking at him, and all of a sudden, I got it."

"Every single person in the whole world tells you how to do it a different way," Michael says of all the baby advice he's getting. "At first it confuses you, then it drives you nuts, and then you realize that there is no right way. You just do the best you can and hope it turns out okay."

So true — wise words of advice from a new, first-time father. You do the best YOU can do, and the best YOU can do is different every day.
