Health Canada has recalled KidCo's Angle Mount Wood Safeway gates due to a choking hazard. The recalled products have the model numbers G2300, G2301, G2302, G2303, G2400, G2401 and G2402 and are available in Oak, Cherry and Espresso colours.  The affected UPC Codes are: 786441023005, 786441023012, 786441023029, 786441023035, 786441024002, 786441024019, 786441024026.

The recall was triggered after Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program determined that these gates do not meet the Canadian safety requirements for gates. Specifically, the gate's stop clip may become detached, therefore posing a choking hazard to young children. Neither Health Canada nor KidCo has received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these gates in Canada.

Approximately 13,785 units of the recalled products were sold in Canada between January 2012 and September 2016.

What should you do?

If you own one of the recalled safety gates, you should stop using it immediately and contact KidCo toll-free at (855) 847-8600 or visit www.kidco.com for instructions on how to remove the stop clip.
