The recall was triggered after Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program determined that these cribs do not meet the Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets Regulations in Canada and may pose a choking hazard. Specifically, the four plastic clips that attach the mattress to the bottom of the crib do not meet the requirements. Neither Health Canada nor phil & teds has received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these cribs in Canada.

Approximately 5,823 units of the recalled products were sold in Canada between February 2013 and September 2016.

What should you do?

If you own one of the recalled cribs, you should stop using it immediately and contact phil & teds to arrange to receive a free repair kit including replacement clips. For additional information, you can contact phil & teds USA toll free at 1-855-652-9019 or by email. Please visit the company's website to register for a free repair kit.
