If you're only going to be pumping breastmilk occasionally, a single electric breast pump is probably all you'll need. You could even get away with a manual pump, but a good single electric does the work for you, efficiently and comfortably. There aren't as many single electric pumps out there compared to doubles and manuals, but we put them to the test in our lab, looking at the suction strength, noisiness (some can be a bit loud) and how easily they can be cleaned and assembled. Plus, we sent the pumps out to moms to get real-life feedback on comfort during pumping, simplicity of set-up, portability and more. Ultimately, two single electric breast pumps stood out, earning the Today's Parent Approved seal.
