More typically known for her privacy, Gisele Bündchen is opening up the information floodgates in her new memoir, Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life. She goes into all the gory details of the breast implants she completely regretted all the way to her wedding to NFL star Tom Brady. And she drops bombshells about what it was like to find out his ex, Bridget Moynhahan, was pregnant two months into dating.
E! News first reported that Bündchen wrote she met the NFL star on a blind date in December of 2006. They quickly found common ground over their shared love of family and community. Knowing they'd commit to each other, the pair agreed to delay starting their own family because their careers were in "high gear" in the early 2000s.
But then a bombshell was dropped in Gisele's lap. Just two months into their relationship, Brady revealed that actress and model Bridget Moynahan, his ex of two years, was pregnant. The baby was his.
Instagram/Bridget Moynahan"I felt my world had been turned upside down. Needless to say, that wasn't an easy time. But it was a time that brought about so much growth," Bündchen shared, though she never mentioned Bridget Moynahan by name.
It's a story that probably feels at least somewhat relatable to other famous names like Khloe Kardashian.
Jack was born in the summer of 2007, and Gisele refers to him as "a huge gift and blessing," in her book. She admits that his addition to their relationship encouraged the couple to try for children of their own—Brady wanted Jack to have siblings close in age.
"With Jack in our lives, our priorities definitely started to shift," the model penned on creating her own newborn checklist. "I wanted to be there for Jack and Tom, and do whatever I could to create stability in their lives, and help them to have a close relationship."
Bündchen and Brady married in April 2009 and welcomed their first son together, Benjamin, later that year. Daughter Vivian was born In 2012, but Gisele admitted she soon felt "overwhelmed: by the pressures of motherhood. She eventually found her footing, but admits to taking a step back from her demanding career.
"Either Tom has a big game, or Benny has a play at school, or maybe Jack will be with us for the weekend, or Vivi has a bad cough," she shared in her book. "For whatever reason, the scheduling doesn't always work... My family comes first."
