Over-the-top gender reveals have become an internet trend, each one more outlandish than the last. We might never learn their names, but a couple’s party will go down in 2020 history as an official disaster, responsible for starting a wildfire. Officials confirmed that the fire, which spread to burn 22,000 acres in California and killed a firefighter, was caused by a pyrotechnic device the parents-to-be had planned to use during the big reveal. Maybe we take this as a sign to finally stop forcing imagined cultural norms onto unborn children?
