Makeup expiration: When to throw it out

Should you still be using that year-old concealer? And is that lipstick past its prime? Here's when to throw our your makeup.

Chances are your makeup is older than you think. Here are some tips to keep in mind when checking if your product has expired:

1. Check for changes in smell, colour or texture—this can mean the product has gone bad.

2. Clean your brushes and sponges weekly using warm water and a mild soap.

3. Your kid gave you pink eye? Ditch your eye products and give your eyes a break until it passes. Then, buy new eye makeup that you use daily.
