The results are in for the 2018 Product of the Year Canada awards. Here are our favourite things from this year's winners.
Now in its ninth year, Product of the Year Canada is an award that celebrates new products and innovation. Products are put before a jury of industry experts and members of the media who ensure they meet the Product of the Year criteria, and then Canadian consumers evaluate the products in a survey. Here are our favourite family-friendly picks from this year’s winners.
With 10 grams per serving, these IÖGO PROTEINe 0% Greek yogurt cups are perfect for tucking in a lunch container or warding off hunger between meals. Flavours include Vanilla, Black Cherry, Key Lime and, our personal fave, Chocolate.
Cold brew is all the rage and this sleek coffee maker from KitchenAid will help you achieve a smooth, full-bodied cup every time. It’s small in size, making it easy to store on your countertop or fridge. Plus, it's so simple to use: fill it with coffee and cold water, then steep and drink up.
Who can resist a sweet treat? The new M&M’s Caramel has arrived in Canada and with its deliciously soft center and crisp-candy coating, it’s the perfect munchie to add to your movie night snack list.
Gnocchi is a soft potato dumpling that, in our opinion, can do no wrong. Made in Italy, the soft and fluffy Jan K Overweel EMMA Gnocchi with Quinoa, is a great way to sneak in some extra fibre on nights when only comfort food will do.
Powerful without taking up a lot of precious counter real estate, the KitchenAid Artisan Mini can make five dozen cookies in a single batch and has the same force as a classic KitchenAid stand mixer (while being 25% lighter and 20% smaller). Our favourite part about the 10-speed mixer might be the soft start feature, which helps eliminate messes caused from splashes or poofs of flour.
Meatless Monday is easier and tastier than ever. With the appeal of vegetarian eating on the rise, these oh naturel! burgers pack a punch with chunks of Portobello mushrooms, sweet potato, peppers, brown rice and quinoa. Try it on a toasted bun with your favourite condiments.
Combat dry skin with the non-greasy, fast-absorbing NIVEA Men Crème. It’s been carefully designed to suit men’s skin, is formulated with vitamin E and can be used anywhere that rough skin lurks. The compact tin is the perfect size for tossing in a gym bag or keeping in the car.
Canned pineapple is getting an upgrade and it’s sweeter than ever. Lighter than a traditional can, the Dole Tropical Gold Pineapple Chunks are available in a resealable pouch that’s easy to store in the fridge. It’s perfect for snacking on, adding to pizza or tossing into the blender for a smoothie.
The Passport debit card from Scotiabank is an easy way to start saving for that family vacation. Earn travel rewards on everyday purchases then redeem them on travel-related purchases like flights, hotels or rental cars. Taking the family on a vacay is fun, but it ain’t cheap, this card is a great help.
This new Sunlight 4-in-1 laundry detergent will become the superhero of your laundry room with its ability to not only fight stains and clean thouroughly, but to whiten and freshen your duds.
This non-greasy gel formula is the perfect thing for busy moms. The Vichy Canada Minéral 89 hydrates skin while stregthening it to help fight against harsh weather, stress, pollution and fatigue that can all lead to dull and damaged skin. Used daily, it’s an easy way to keep skin healthy and glowing.
What you feed your family is important. Maple Leaf Prime meats are raised without hormones and are a sustainable option to cook up for dinner. The line of poultry is vegetable grain-fed, raised humanely on Canadian farms and never frozen.
