Mexico is the ultimate spring break destination. It's also home to some of the best hotels and all-inclusive resorts for families with enticing amenities. Free kids and teen clubs, baby concierges and private butlers at your beck and call via WhatsApp are on the menu—the dream, right?

Warm weather year-round, stunning scenery, delicious cuisine and beautiful white sand beaches make Mexico a true paradise for parents and kids of all ages. The best family resorts in Mexico offer a little something for everyone, including endless activities to entertain the kids and world-class food, drinks, and spas for the parents, plus family-friendly pools and swim-up bars.

Whether you're looking for picturesque views and some peace and quiet, to immerse yourself in the culture, or to simply sip margaritas with fellow parents poolside while your kids kick it at the kids club, we've got you. From Cancun to Playa Del Carmen, these are the  Mexico resorts worth checking out and into.

The best family resorts in Mexico to visit now

Andaz Mayakoba Resort Riviera Maya, Playa Del Carmen

If you want to get away from it all, your kids included, check out this tranquil Caribbean resort situated on over 590 acres of awe-inspiring oceanfront, just north of Playa del Carmen. It feels like your own private tropical paradise, as the gated hotel boasts only 214 rooms.

Choose from 41 suites with gorgeous views. Mayan-inspired art and decor, bright color pops, and an open, airy feel.

Even when the resort is at full capacity, there's no fighting over pool chairs or waking up at the crack of dawn just to get a spot. Honestly, it's pure relaxation surrounded by nature.

Parents enjoy a nice mix of dining options, from laid-back and casual restaurants to finer fares. Kids have a blast at the included Kimbo Kids Club for children ages four and older. They'll go treasure hunting, enjoy mini yoga classes, play Mayan board games, make pinatas, enjoy a Mexican candy tasting and learn about local history.

In-room babysitting services are also available for children of all ages so parents can have quality time together. And there's Kimbo Baby for guests ages three months to four years of age. The trained childcare team only takes care of four babies or toddlers at once.

Another activity the kids will love (and parents too) is the eco-cruise around the Mayakoba lagoon, which highlights all the plants and animals (think iguanas and monkeys!) that reside within the resort area’s ecosystem.

Golf cart rides are available to whisk families off to the beach when kids don't feel like walking. There are also bikes you can freely use to get around, get some exercise or just adventure off-property.

The concierge here uses WhatsApp so whatever you need, from dinner reservations to milk to a ride back to your room, is just a simple text message away—convenient when you've got screaming kids and couldn't possibly hear anyone over the phone if you tried.

Garza Blanca Resort & Spa, Cancun

Garza Blanca, a luxury all-inclusive resort located on the pristine and remote beach of Costa Mujeres, comes highly recommended by families for its delicious food (not your typical bland all-inclusive fare) and ample opportunities for rest and relaxation.

The hotel itself feels quite intimate, though there are 400+ rooms, so you'll still find other families to hang out with if you're looking for some company—or your kids want playmates. There are seven huge pools, with only one rooftop pool being adults only, so parents and their rowdy children will feel welcome almost everywhere they go, and you won't have to worry about your kids' constant cannonballing disturbing the peace.

There's 24-hour in-room dining, and all the suites come with a full kitchen (except the starter room). Expect a full-size fridge, stove, dishwasher, dishes and a washer and dryer. The resort provides pretty much everything you need for tiny travelers before arrival, from strollers and car seats to monitors and bottle sterilizers.

Kids are greeted with cool keepsakes, including a Mexico-themed coloring book, authentic handcrafted toys and a kids-sized bathrobe and slippers at check-in.

Perhaps the best part of this beautiful all-inclusive resort though is the free kids' club for children ages 4-12. Here, little ones will play beach sports, do arts and crafts, build sand castles, get their face painted, and enjoy movie time in the theater while you hit the spa or sunbathe.

Once the kids' club ends at 5 PM, hit up one of the many gourmet restaurants at Garza Blanca. These kid-friendly eateries offer special menus for kiddos and keep them entertained with all the crayons and coloring books their little hearts desire.

There's also a nanny service for all ages, should you wish to ditch the kiddos for a romantic dinner alone. And the hotel is almost entirely cashless, so you won't have to stress about having enough cash or carrying it around for tips.

Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, Nuevo Vallarta

If you're on the fence about all-inclusive hotels, you won't be after visiting Grand Velas. This five-star oceanfront resort in Nuevo Vallarta will have you wondering why you haven't been vacationing this way all along with your kiddos.

From the incredible food and epic, three-tier infinity pool to the live entertainment, daily family-friendly activities, baby concierge, spacious family suites, and kids' club with the absolute best, most attentive caregivers and late-night hours (so you can actually enjoy a nice dinner sans children), this resort truly has it all.

If you've already visited the popular Grand Velas Riviera Maya and loved it, this should be your next adventure.

I recently had the chance to stay here with my own family, and my kids are now unimpressed with any other hotel we've gone to. Expect verything included with your stay. If your kids hate the chicken tenders you ordered, then you aren't out $30. Order them something different, because it's all included.

Upon check-in, you'll receive a text message from your own private butler who will help you with everything from making dinner reservations at one of the many delicious on-site restaurants to what snacks and drinks your kiddos like so they can keep your mini bar stocked.

I think this was my son's favorite part, waking up to chocolate milk and fresh bags of chips and chocolate to devour each day.

We simply could not get our daughter out of the free kid's club, available to children ages four to 12. It opens at 9 AM and stays open until 11 PM each evening with something fun happening every hour (think arts and crafts, pool time, nature walks, etc.).

Kids have the opportunity to watch their favorite shows and movies, as well as play video games. Every time I checked on my girl she was either coloring, making friendship bracelets, or creating her own piggy bank out of plastic bottles. We even walked in on a dance party and the kids got to watch a live fire show, which they thought was awesome.

There's also a cool contemporary teen's club, stocked with all the drinks, snacks, video gaming booths, karaoke and table games, older ones can dream of. As for the four-and-under crowd, you can hire a babysitter to watch your little ones, either in your room or at the kids' club, for only $20 an hour, which feels like a steal compared to the prices at some resorts.

I also appreciated the resort's free Baby Concierge service, which allows you to request all the baby necessities you need in advance, like a crib, bottle warmer, carrier and more at no extra charge, so that's less stuff you have to haul on vacation with you.

Nuevo Vallarta and Puerto Vallarta are both on the Pacific coast of Mexico, but about 45 minutes apart by car.

Royalton Splash Riviera, Cancun

If you haven't already read our Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun review, do it. It's brimming with details about this all-new resort's facilities, rooms, dining and gorgeous ocean views. It's an ideal family vacation for those with toddlers through teenage years thanks to a near endless array of activities and on-site water parks designed to attract all ages.

We love this all-inclusive resort's emphasis on stylish, high-end decor that seems a notch above most other all-inclusive hotels and the genuinely tasty food. If you're open to upgrading your stay a bit, check out the Diamond Club packages that offer premium rooms with features like private hot tubs and infinity pools and dedicated lounges.

We loved the private butler service, four-story kids' club with just about every activity you can imagine, 12 on-site dining options and totally new, gorgeous gym facilities that make it easy to stay fit on vacation. Seriously, we tried sunrise yoga classes that rivaled some of our favorite sessions in New York.

It's one of our top all-inclusive resorts that opened in the last 24 months. With so much to do, we think this property deserves a solid four to five nights rather than a long weekend.

Moon Palace The Grand, Cancun

True to its name, this huge all-inclusive luxury resort is, well, grand. Located on the south shore of Cancun, it's a short 10-minute drive from the airport so by the time your kids ask if you're there yet, you are. Upon arrival, they will have a tough time deciding between hitting the epic, on-site water park, complete with thrilling water slides and a lazy river.

Go bowling at the bowling alley or head over to The Playroom (open from 9 AM-10 PM), where children ages 4+ can ride real bumper cars, play neon mini golf and arcade games, embark on the sky trail or challenge themselves at the three-story maze-like playground. Babies and toddlers are also welcome to get in on the fun with adult supervision.

While there are a plethora of restaurants to choose from, your kiddos will especially love Circus, which is 100% designed for kids, serving up delish kid-friendly dishes and fruity mocktails they'll devour with magical entertainment to keep them happy so you don't have to pull out the iPads.

If your kids spot her in the lobby (don't worry they'll be looking), they'll be able to select a sweet treat from her cart to enjoy, on the house.

Other offerings we're obsessed with are the adorable spa treatments at Awe-Princess, where your mini can get a Rainbow Manicure and Pedicure, Cotton Candy Hairstyling and a princess headband and nail stickers to complete her Royal Treatment. There's also an 18-hole mini golf course the whole family can play together, as well as opportunities for your kids to learn new tricks (literally) with a magic, circus, and puppet course.

They'll then be able to take what they've learned and star in the live entertainment talent nights. While they're having the time of their life, you'll be living it up at the adults-only pool sipping on top-shelf cocktails and relaxing, for once.

Finest Playa Mujeres, Cancun

Book your next family vacay at Finest Playa Mujeres, one of the absolute best family resorts in Mexico, for an epic all-inclusive beach getaway where everyone knows your name, and your kids too. There's a daycare center so you can get some R&R, in-suite baby care items, a kids’ club, mini spa treatments, family suites featuring separate bedrooms (so everyone actually sleeps) and so much more.

Head to the ONE spa, designed for parents and children, where kids can choose from the cutest mini spa treatments, like the Make Me Sleep Massage, jungle-inspired facials, fruit scrubs, or a princess hairstyle with colored ribbons and gems, while you get pampered too. "

The staff are immensely kid-friendly, greeting your children, knowing their names, playing with them, teaching them how to play new games, coloring, and reading to them," says NY-based mom-of-two Gabrielle Gambrell.

She tells us that her kids love this resort "as much as they love Disneyland," which is saying a lot.

In addition to the diverse international dining options at the twelve all-inclusive restaurants, there are plenty of pools (12 to be exact), including a children's pool with its own built-in waterpark and water slides for your tiniest tots to splish and splash.

Kids of all ages are welcome to check into the kids club, where they'll play ping pong, air hockey, read books, soar down slides, enjoy water balloon fights and so much more—though littles two and under must be accompanied by an adult. The Mini Club also features a nap room and changing area.

As if that weren't enough, the resort offers tons of daily planned activities included in your stay, from paddle boarding and kayaking to dance lessons and beach soccer, so they're never bored. There's also live music and shows happening nightly that are fun for the whole family!

Perhaps our favorite part though is the Imagine Lounge, which is essentially a professionally-staffed daycare center for potty-trained children (three and up) that's open during breakfast and dinner so you can dine in peace. It's a family-friendly resort in every possible way.

Villa Del Palmar At The Islands Of Loreto By Danzante Bay, Loreto

For an off-the-beaten-path family adventure, check out this hidden gem, located in Loreto, Mexico, about 200 miles north of Cabo on the beautiful Baja California Peninsula. Surrounded by the stunning Sierra de la Giganta mountains and overlooking the tranquil turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortez, the views never disappoint.

Villa Del Palmar is the place to go if you're seeking a luxurious family getaway that's truly away from it all, while still having everything you need. It's also a great alternative to the hustle and bustle of the main areas of Los Cabos.

From Tabor Canyon hikes and whale watching to ATV desert tours and cultural city tours, there's no shortage of things for the whole fam to do here. Go for a dip in the five sparkling pools, taste fresh, local cuisine at the four on-site restaurants, and even enjoy a round of golf on the 18-hole golf course (or mini golf for the minis) without ever leaving.

All rooms at the resort includes a kitchen and kids are made to feel like VIPs from the second they arrive with a check-in desk just for little ones. The Family Program at Villa Del Palmar includes a dedicated Kid's Club, in-room amenities like a camping kit, Spanish lessons, Mexican crafts, kite and bracelet making and special participation in nightly shows.

There are also mini massage sessions where your kids will learn all the latest and greatest massage techniques to use on you. It's one of the least-talked-about and most-inclusive family resorts in Mexico, meaning you'll genuinely have a unique story to tell your friends back home.

Iberostar, Cozumel

Best for slightly older kids, this quaint all-inclusive resort is a true tropical paradise. Built along the Mexican Riviera right on the beach with a subtropical mangrove forest and the second largest reef in the world, the scuba diving options and snorkeling are next level.

Unlike the other hotels on our list, this resorts stay is in your own private bungalow suite. There's no fussing with elevators or long treks for a meal or going for a swim. It's a great alternative to bestselling Puerto Morelos properties, too.

If you and your partner want to hit the spa or enjoy a dive together, the kids will be delighted to have their own adventure at Star Camp (included free of charge for children four and up). This is where all sorts of exciting activities await, from pool games and face painting to tie-dying t-shirts. We love the included nature walks, puppet and jewelry making.

We love how kind, caring and attentive the childcare staff are.

"If you are animal lovers, the flamingos, peacocks, iguanas, parrots and coatis around the grounds made an impression on my son and made walking from place to place an adventure," writes one reviewer.

Another notes how there is no shortage of fun, free daily activities to partake in for the whole family, including cornhole, bingo, basketball, water aerobics, and more. There are also nightly family-friendly shows, ranging from musical productions to comedy, to entertain your entire crew.
