9 kids’ movies and shows that are new on Netflix Canada in December 2019

Netflix Canada has announced which new TV shows and movies it will be adding to its lineup in December 2019, and of course that means, more options for kids! There's a handful of titles to look forward to next month, including kids’ holiday specials and The Secret Life of Pets 2! Check out the full lineup with specific release dates below.

But first, an important note: The age recommendations offered below are approximate. Every kid is different, and you’re the best judge of what’s appropriate and what your kid can handle.

The Secret Life of Pets 2

Best for: 6+ Continuing the story of Max and his pet friends, following their secret lives after their owners leave them for work or school each day. Available December 27

Team Kaylie, Part 2

Best for: 9+ Ready for more glitz, glam and grit? Kaylie and the Porcupines sharpen their skills for a new slate of action-packed shenanigans. Available December 2

The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl

Best for: 6+ A young boy is recruited by his imaginary friends Sharkboy and Lavagirl to help save their planet. Available December 1

Fuller House, Season 5

Best for: 9+ Jimmy and Steph bring their new baby home and dive headfirst into the world of parenting. But no worries: They've got a houseful of hands to help. Available December 6

A Family Reunion Christmas

Best for: 9+ M'Dear and her sisters struggle to keep their singing act together before a church Christmas pageant while Grandpa teaches the kids a valuable lesson. Available December 9

Transformers Rescue Bots Academy, Season 1

Best for: 4+ Five young recruits from Cybertron train to be rescue bots at The Rescue Bots Academy on Earth. Available December 23

Alexa & Katie, Season 3

Best for: 9+ Alexa tries to put cancer behind her, but a new person in her life might make that especially hard, while Katie will need all the support she can get from her best friend. Available December 30

Fast & Furious Spy Racers

Best for: 8+ Adventures abound as a group of teenagers infiltrates an elite racing league controlled by a nefarious organization bent on world domination. Available December 26

Spirit Riding Free: The Spirit of Christmas

Best for: 6+ Lucky and friends must figure out how to get home in time for Christmas when a falling boulder -- and a serious snowstorm -- derail their travel plans. Available December 6

Netflix is only taking a few kids’ titles off next month. Thor: Ragnarok is leaving on December 4, season 1 of Beyblade: Metal Fusion is leaving on December 14, and George of the Jungle 2 is leaving on December 19. Luckily, there is still plenty of time left to give these a watch as a family.
