16 kids’ movies and shows that are new on Netflix Canada in August 2019

Netflix Canada has announced which new TV shows and movies it will be adding to its lineup in August 2019, and of course that means, more options for kids! There are lots of titles to look forward to next month, including Avengers: Age of Ultron, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Lot of shows are coming out with new episodes as well! Check out the full lineup.

But first, an important note: The age recommendations offered below are approximate. Every kid is different, and you’re the best judge of what’s appropriate and what your kid can handle.

Spirit Riding Free: Pony Tales

Best for: 6+ Find the fun and adventure of "Spirit Riding Free" in this quick mix of music videos and bite-sized stories featuring Lucky and all of her friends! Available August 9.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie

Best for: 5+ Shunned by everyone for being the son of an evil warlord, a teenager seeks to defeat him with the help of his fellow ninjas. Available August 5.

Ask the Storybots, Season 3

Best for: 3+ The StoryBots are standing by to field more questions from curious kids -- from "Why do people look different?" to "Where does chocolate come from?" Available August 2.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

Best for: 7+ Sean Anderson partners with his mom's husband on a mission to find his grandfather, who is thought to be missing on a mythical island. Available August 1.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Season 3

Best for: 8+ Catra and Adora journey to the Crimson Waste, looking for redemption and answers, while Hordak's portal research puts Etheria's very reality at risk. Available August 2. 

No Good Nick, Part 2

Best for: 9+ Steps away from being exposed as an impostor, Nick works harder, faster and smarter to right the Thompsons' wrongs and spring her father out of jail. Available August 5.

Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron

Best for: 12+ When Tony Stark and Bruce Banner try to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and it's up to Earth's mightiest heroes to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plan. Available August 7.

Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus

Best for: 8+ When Zim suddenly reappears to begin Phase 2 of his evil alien plan to conquer Earth, his longtime nemesis Dib sets out to unmask him once and for all. Available August 16.

Mighty Little Bheem, Season 2

Best for: 3+ Join Bheem for another season of playful antics and superpowered feats as he cheerfully dodges danger and makes friends in unlikely places. Available August 30.

The Smurfs

Best for: 5+ When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village, they tumble from their magical world into New York City. Available August 1.

Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling

Best for: 10+ After 20 years in space, Rocko returns to a technologically advanced O-Town and makes it his mission to get his favorite show back on the air. Available August 9.

Super Monsters Back to School

Best for: 3+ Vida's starting school in Pitchfork Pines, and the Super Monsters are helping their friend adjust to everything that's new and different. Available August 16.

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

Best for: 7+ A poor but hopeful boy seeks one of the five coveted golden tickets that will send him on a tour of Willy Wonka's mysterious chocolate factory. Available August 15.

The InBESTigators

Best for: 8+ Four very different kids start their own detective agency and vlog about their adventures, becoming fast friends in the process. Available August 9.

Trolls: the Beat Goes On, Season 7

Best for: 5+ The next chapter in the Trolls’ hair-raising adventures. Join Poppy, Branch and their friends as they explore a fantastical world with new creatures, bigger adventures, and more parties! Available August 27.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance

Best for: 7+ The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance returns to the world of Thra with an all new adventure. When three Gelfling discover the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis’ power, they set out on an epic journey to ignite the fires of rebellion and save their world. Available August 30.
