11 new kids' shows and movies coming to Netflix Canada in August

Every month, Netflix Canada adds family-friendly shows and movies for your kids to stream. Here's what's coming up in August.

If your kids need a break from all that hot-weather fun they’re having, then go ahead and let them have a little screen time (it’s all about moderation, right?). And if they’re bored of their old favourites, consider one of these August additions to Netflix Canada’s lineup.

Note: Age recommendations are approximate. Every kid is different—you’re the best judge of what’s appropriate and what your kid can handle.

Hook
Best for: Ages 9+
When Captain Hook kidnaps his children, an adult Peter Pan must return to Neverland and reclaim his youthful spirit in order to challenge his old enemy. Available August 2.

Pan
Best for: Ages 8+
As a kind of prequel to the Peter Pan story, this fantasy relates how Peter first met and initially befriended Captain Hook and fought alongside him. Available August 14.

Bring It On: Worldwide #Cheersmack
Best for: Ages 13+
When Destiny, captain of three-time national champions “The Rebels,” is challenged to a global cheer showdown by an edgy new team called “The Truth,” the Cheer Goddess organizes a virtual battle for squads from all around the world. Available August 29.

LAST CALL!
In the new, out with the old. The following movies and series will be removed from Netflix Canada throughout the month of August: Fantastic Four, Ultimate Spider-Man and Sleeping Beauty.
