Girls rule in that Galaxy Far, Far Away. Disney and Lucasfilm has announced a new series of animated shorts called Star Wars Forces of Destiny which will celebrate their heroines. The micro-series is slated for July and will be available on Disney YouTube.
With episodes spanning two to three minutes in length, the series will focus on the backstories of key characters like Princess Leia, Asoka Tano, Jyn Erso, Sabine Wren and, of course, Rey. Many of them are going to be voiced by the actors like Daisy Ridley, Felicity Jones and Lupita Nyong'o who play them in the films, too.
And where a new Star Wars series goes, the merch follows. Expect to see books, clothes, costumes, bedding and, of course, toys! Hasbro will be releasing a new line of action figures called Adventure Figures which marries traditional action figures and dolls, coming soon to your favourite toy store.
