These spoof infertility announcements are awesome

Infertility is lonely. While news of a pregnancy is something you can barely keep under your hat, it can be hard to find a way to broach the topic of infertility, even with close friends. It’s even harder to find the words when everyone around you seems to be getting pregnant effortlessly. But being open is so important for finding support; besides, infertility is a medical condition and nothing to be ashamed of.

That’s why I applaud these parody birth/infertility announcements from bloggers Whitney and Spencer of On an Adventure, which blow the veil of silence right off the issue with out-there humour. Each one is funnier than the next, although this one is my personal fave.

Laughter is good medicine, and hopefully these are giving someone out there struggling with infertility a therapeutic giggle. And you’ll be happy to know this couple got their happy ending: they’re now proud parents of two sons through adoption.
