Would you wear a white coat to a mural-painting event? Only the Duchess could do that... and not get splashed with paint!
Though it may be a tad inappropriate for a painting event, how lovely is this whole look?!
Earlier today, February 12, The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, 33, visited the new site of Ben Ainslie Racing (which is all about getting youths involved in sailing) and the 1851 Trust to see the art mural created by the local community, in Portsmouth, England.
For the occasion, the Duchess donned a white coat: the perfect blank canvas, rife with possibility, simply begging to be splashed with paint—especially since she actually took a paintbrush to add her royal touch to the mural. Unlike most of us mere mortals, however, she didn't get a single spatter of paint on her perfect Max Mara "Villar" coat (now sure to be flying off the shelves as I type this).
Here's a photo of Kate painting, tweeted by a bystander...

As she was painting, Kate revealed that her little 19-month-old charmer, Prince George, is quite the artist. "[George] loves painting," she told art teacher James Waterfield, who led her through her role in the mural painting.
"[Kate] told me she was painting yesterday with baby George," said Waterfield, "and that she should have brought him down because he loves doing all of this."
He also said, "I was so worried about getting paint on her fantastic white coat." Who can blame him?
Underneath that fantastic white coat, Kate, who is herself quite the sailor (she spent a year between high school and college on a sailing expedition), reportedly wore a sailboat-print dress by Alice Temperly ($152 at johnlewis.com). She accessorized the outfit with a bump-enhancing skinny belt, a dark blue LK Bennet clutch and matching blue Jimmy Choo "Georgia" heels. The shoes are, indeed, amazing.

Kate also received a cute tee for George...
