There's Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, on her way out of the Northside Center for Child Development in New York City, yesterday, December 8, 2014—and on her way to lunch at the British General Consulate's home. This is part of her and Prince William's three-day tour of New York; they'll be meeting with President Barack Obama, in Washington, next Monday.
Though the black dress coat is an intense new look for Kate, what everyone's still talking about is her meeting with—never mind the president!—Beyoncé and Jay Z. Yes, everyone's going nuts that Kate and William met up with Hollywood's king and queen (which is Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, if you ask me), Jay Z and Beyoncé. They all met up at the Brooklyn Nets versus Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game yesterday. According to Us Weekly sources, the meeting was "epic."
Yes, a source for the mag says Kate and William met Jay and Bey around seven minutes into the third quarter of the game: They all "got a standing ovation" from the fans, who were busy "snapping pics instead of watching the game." Of course they were!
"Jay and Bey walked across the court to see them," as the songs "God Save the Queen" and, then "Crazy in Love" started playing. Amazing.
William wore his typical button-down shirt and sat next to former NBA player Dikembe Mutombo, who was, says Us's source, "explaining the game to him." And Kate wore skinny maternity jeans and a tweed coat by Tory Burch.
The royal couple also stuck around to meet LeBron James and Kevin Garnett after the game—and the players gave them a wee jersey for George! Awww.
Earlier today, Kate and William toured the lobby of the One World Trade Centre after a visit to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. This is the royal couple's first official New York City visit.
Love!
