Today is a good day. Nursing moms feeling ravenous at all hours of the night now have a legit reason to binge on ice cream: this particular flavour could help boost your milk supply.

Vermont's finest hippie ice cream brand, Ben & Jerry's, has developed a new concoction called "Oat of this Swirled." (Man, they always have such punny names.)

Anyway, this new flavour is a blend of brown sugar ice cream with fudge and swirls of cinnamon oatmeal cookies. So what's special about it? Well, the oats in the cookie chunks have saponins, which can maybe increase the hormones that breastfeeding mamas need to up their milk production.

We're saying "maybe" because like a lot of lactation-inducing herbs, recipes and teas, there isn't conclusive medical evidence backed by the people in lab coats just yet. But for many women looking to boost their milk supply, anecdotal evidence from other nursing moms who swear by a certain remedy (especially one this delicious) is more than enough reason to try it.

Digging into a pint—guilt-free—isn't a bad way to test the theory, right? Spoons up, ladies.

Editor's note: Unfortunately, "Oat of this Swirled" is only available in the US right now. To our Canadian readers, please accept our sincere apologies for making you crave a flavour you can't get. Also, if you've been trying to avoid dairy while nursing, Ben & Jerry's has a line of non-dairy, vegan flavours coming to Canada sometime in 2017.
