Kim Kardashian explains the name North West

Hello from my in-laws' farm just-outside Montreal! My family and I are stopping here on our way to Vermont for a Today's Parent travel piece (stay tuned). I'm going to do my best to update Celebrity Candy this week, but not to worry, my colleague Cassandre Cadieux will post anything major that I can't get to, OK?

Speaking of major.... Kim Kardashian finally spoke out about her and Kanye West's choice of the name North West for their baby girl.

On the latest episode of her reality-TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which aired yesterday, Kim revealed she chose not to continue her family's "K" name tradition because she didn't want her family to be labelled "KKK."

"If we name our kid with a 'K' name, which is kinda what we want because Kanye and I are both K names, then they will call us the 'KKK,'" Kim said, referring to the Ku Klux Klan.

"That is a little crazy, though," her step-brother Brody Jenner said. "I am feeling North, North West."

"Me too. It is pretty and cool and not just like Tomboyish, it is just good," her sister Kourtney said, as they sailed on a luxury yacht in Santorini, where they were vacationing at the time.

Kim also shared what a great father she thought Kanye will be: "I think Kanye will be really good. He says, 'There is nothing I love more in this world than you and me, myself, so imagine a combination of the two.'"

Oy, Kanye cracks me up.

Kim does, indeed, seem like she's on cloud nine now that she's settling into motherhood. After five days of uncharacteristic silence on Twitter, she tweeted, "I love you!!" along with a photo of a bunch of roses — a gift from Kanye, perhaps?
