Jennifer Garner and her karate kid: All smiles!

I'm still coming down from an exciting evening at Hello! Canada's 50 Most Beautiful Canadians soirée. There were definitely a lot of beautiful people there — check out my red carpet pics in my Twitter stream.

In the meantime, it's been a while since Jennifer Garner graced our Celebrity Candy blog, and so many of us are huge fans. So here she is smiling big with her karate kid, Violet, 7. Gosh, they are clones...with those dimples!

They're photo'd here getting some healthy drinks before class. And, look at that, Violet's an orange belt! Go, Violet!

I've got both my kids in karate. My five-year-old is on his way to orange (woohoo!), and my seven-year-old just got her yellow belt last weekend. Karate's sooo good for them: It gives my son a sense of focus and discipline; and it gives my shy daughter the chance to yell ("kiai!") and be strong. I highly recommend it.
