Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie: Split

Aww, and I just sat down with Hilary Duff last month and asked her all about being a "hockey wife"... Turns out, after three years of marriage, she and Mike Comrie are separating.

The 26-year-old actress/singer and her 33-year-old former-pro-hockey-player husband "have mutually decided [on] an amicable separation," Hilary's rep confirmed to People. "They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time."

Hilary and Mike were married in August 2010 and are parents to 21-month-old son Luca. Sources say nothing specific occurred to trigger the separation, that they simply grew apart and have been considering this separation for a long time.

According to People's sources, they remain good friends and are "still going to go to the park together." Indeed, they just returned from a week-long vacation to Disneyland — and Hilary shared this sweet family photo.

There are no surprises anymore when it comes to Hollywood splits, but this is unfortunate news nonetheless.
