Why Drew Barrymore went public with her pregnancy

Interesting article over at People.com this morning. Drew Barrymore talks about why she's gone public with this second pregnancy — whereas, remember last time, she never even confirmed it?

We had to speculate for months, based on sources and maternity dresses, until finally baby Olive arrived. Remember that?

This time around, she even gave us a heads up just weeks before she announced the pregnancy news, telling Jay Leno she was ready for a second child "right away, yes."

Indeed, now, not only has she opened up about being pregnant with her second child, but she's opening up about opening up!

"Last time I never commented on it and people just stalked me the entire time,” Drew, 38, explains exclusively to People. “So yes, it’s happening, it’s true. I tried to keep it a secret for as long as possible."

Drew goes on to share her utter glee about getting pregnant a second time. "You’re so lucky to get to do it," she says. "It’s such a miracle. I just felt really lucky.”

But it's 13-month-old Olive who deserves the accolades, Drew insists. ". . . We just wanted so badly for Olive to have a sibling,” she shares. “In some ways, it’s really for her. So congratulations, Olive!"
