RECALL: Skip Hop Tuo Convertible High Chairs

Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Skip Hop have issued an update to the January 9, 2018 recall of the Skip Hop Tuo Convertible High Chair, in which the front legs on the highchair were found to detach from the seat, posing a fall and injury hazard to kids.

Newly affected products include convertible high chairs in charcoal grey or silver/white with clouds that were not included in the previous recall.

Consumers with the chair should check for style numbers 304200, 304201 and 304200-CN with the date codes HH5/2017, HH6/2017, HH7/2017, HH8/2017, HH9/2017, HH092717, HH030518, HH05182018, HH05312018, HH092917, HH010518, HH102016, HH11/2016, HH3/2017 and HH4/2017, which can be found on the back of the chair.

As of November 30, 2018, the company has received four reports of legs detaching from chairs in Canada and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received 13 reports of the legs detaching and no injuries.

Approximately 8,600 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and approximately 32,300 were sold in the United States between December 2016 and December 2018.

What should you do? Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled high chairs and contact Skip Hop for a full refund or an e-gift card of comparable value.
