As a self-proclaimed skincare junkie and a mom of three, I’m constantly on the hunt for skincare products that are not just perfect for my kids but also great for Mom, Dad and the rest of the family.

I find that our skin is prone to dryness and irritation during the colder months, and for us in Alberta, that means sometime in September—which means we take skin care seriously in this household! That’s why I’ve put together some tips on how to keep the whole family’s skin feeling its best.

Wash with a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser

Fragrances and dyes are usually harsh on more sensitive skin. That’s why looking for a cleanser that is free from fragrances and is dermatologist tested is always a good idea.

Use moisturizer immediately after drying wet skin

The key to keeping skin soft? Moisturizing it as soon as it’s dry after a bath or shower. And that goes for everyone from the littlest sibling to great-grandparents.

Add moisture to the air

Purchasing a humidifier and placing them in the rooms we use the most, like our bedrooms and family room have really helped.

Try Bioderma Atoderm

Cooler weather and dry skin are right around the corner, which is why I wanted to give Bioderma Atoderm a try—it’s the perfect lineup of products to prevent and treat dry skin and help prevent dryness issues, like eczema flare-ups, for anyone six months or older (which means it’s good for my whole family!). Whenever I can purchase one item that works for all of us, I just have to have it!

We tried the Bioderma Atoderm Cleansing Oil, which gently cleanses the skin and provides instant hydration for up to 24 hours without that greasy feeling I was expecting with an oily product. And the Bioderma Atoderm Ultra-Nourishing Cream, which we also tried, instantly quenches skin with a burst of hydration that left us feeling silky smooth. Plus, there’s an Atoderm Intensive Balm that is ultra-soothing and rich, but absorbed into our skin very quickly.

The whole line of Bioderma Atoderm products is not only dermatologically tested, but I was so happy when I saw that this luxurious-feeling formula had an affordable price tag, too. I love that my entire family can use it, even with our different skin types, and that I didn’t need to go to a specialty store to get it: I could just pick up a bottle at my nearest Shoppers Drug Mart.
