What We're Shopping For In April

No matter where you live, you're probably shopping more carefully these days. Whether that's to avoid the effect of tariffs or to support local manufacturers, it means being more conscious of where your products come from and how much you're paying for them.

While some items in this month's list could be considered flights of fancy (the adorable tooth fairy light), a little whimsy can help brighten dark times. A comic book featuring beloved characters can bring your family together, and a pair of bright sneakers can put a little extra pep in your step.

While we would genuinely buy every item on this list, some were gifted.

Reebok Classic Az Shoes

As the editor of FASHION magazine says, the best sneaker of 2025 is already in your closet. But if, as a busy mom, you're just grateful that comfortable shoes are trendy and the sneakers in your closet are grey with age, it's time to treat yourself. These Reeboks feature a sleek, retro silhouette in an array of spring-ready shades, including lavender, pink, yellow and this fun red on red suede. I plan on wearing mine with jeans, dress pants and dresses all spring and summer long.

Tooth Fairy Flylight Bundle

This sweet bundle includes everything your little believer needs to entice the tooth fairy to collect their tooth from under their pillow. The book tells a new story about the tooth fairy getting kids excited for lost teeth. The flylight is how your kiddo signals to the tooth fairy that it's time to collect their tooth, and the notebook will become a keepsake once your kid adds their notes about their wiggly teeth.

Nex Playground

Forget your kids, this gaming system that uses your movements instead of game controllers is so much fun, I'd consider buying it for myself. (Read my full review here.) Every day my Apple Watch reminds me to exercise, and I'm grateful to have a fun way to do it. I'm working my way up to almost perfect scores in the dance game Starri, and was so sore from a NexGym workout last week, it hurt to stand.

Dagne Dover Indi Diaper Backpack

Our contributor Caitlin tested this neoprene diaper backpack on a flight with her two-year-old and raved about the bag's convenience, versatility and small size. Adventure Time comic book series

Adventure Time is a beloved show in our house. My husband and I watched before we had kids, then we watched every episode again with our kids. It can be hard to get your hands on books and other merch related to the Land of Ooo, so I was excited to hear about the new comic series. Issue one, Best of Buds, by cartoonist and animator Nick Winn, has just launched. Each issue of the monthly series will feature art by different creators.

Attitude Natural Care Deodorant

With Earth Month in full swing and Earth Day coming up, it's a good reminder to extend your conscious consuming to items that are good for the earth. I love Canadian brand Attitude for eco-friendly personal care and home products. I use this deodorant and while it works and has a subtle scent, the paper packaging is the real stand-out.

One of my kids was lucky enough to test this hybrid (springs and foam) mattress, and I can confidently say that he's sleeping better since we got it.
