What We're Shopping for in January

The items that are making our lives easier and more joyful this month.

What We're Shopping for in January

It's a new year but if you're like many of us, you're just relieved to get a fresh start after a tough 2024. I hope you're taking things slowly and finding time to take care of yourselves. This month, we're shopping for items that make our lives easier and maybe a bit better—they're beautiful, better for our health or simply bring us joy.

*While we would genuinely buy every item on this list, some were gifted.

Genexa, Kids' Pain & Fever Acetaminophen

What We're Shopping for in January

As soon as the temperature drops, kids start getting sick—even more often than they did when school started. So it's great to have a good pain and fever reliever on hand. Genexa's products differ from many of the others on the shelf at your drugstore in that they contain no artificial fillers—no dyes or flavours.

Miles the Label 3-in-1 Jacket

Miles the Label 3-in-1 Jacket in Green Dalmatian Print milesthelabel.com

Forgive us for dreaming of spring, but before you know it, temperatures will be above zero Celcius and your kid won't want to wear their snow pants and parka. Or, if you live somewhere that doesn't feel like the North Pole, you may already be in the market for a cozy, waterproof coat for your kiddo. This Miles the Label jacket is three in one. It has a waterproof raincoat top layer and a fleece liner that can be worn under the raincoat or on its own.

FullWell Unflavored Collagen Peptides Powder

What We're Shopping for in January

While there haven't been large studies or enough of them to prove without a doubt that collagen supplements improve joint health or the look of skin, it's still tempting to give them a try. I've been testing FullWell's Collagen Peptides powder for a few weeks. So far, my skin might feel firmer and a shoulder injury seems to be improving. Both could be coincidences, but if you're curious about trying collagen, this is a good one.

It mixes easily into water (especially if you spring for the gift pack that comes with a Visp Elixir Mixer), doesn't taste like anything and the collagen is sourced from 100% pasture-raised, grass-fed cattle.

BabyQuip Gear Rentals

What We're Shopping for in January

Getting ready for spring travels? BabyQuip is Airbnb or Rent the Runway for baby gear, but they deliver to your Airbnb, hotel or even the airport you fly into. Renting car seats, strollers, high chairs and even cribs means that you don't have to fly with extra gear or try to fit it into an already full trunk. The company offers delivery to over 1,500 locations across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia and beyond.

Happ Diaper Caddy

Looking for a luxurious gift for a baby shower? Happ's quilted nursery accessories are beautiful and help keep baby essentials organized. When your little one is potty trained, swap diapers for books, craft supplies or toys.

Sézane The Wide Leg Trousers in Leo Blond

What We're Shopping for in January

Leopard print pants, really? Hear me out. Parents, particularly moms, often come last when it's time to buy new clothes. Repeat after me: "My kindergartner doesn't deserve to be more stylish than me".

While animal print jeans might not seem like a priority purchase, they're a comfortable and quick way to update your wardrobe. Treat these pants as neutrals and pair them with beige, brown, black and even more brightly coloured sweaters or tees. Plus, the leopard spots will camouflage any peanut butter prints from little hands.

Hooray! While there's nothing to buy quite yet, we're excited about LEGO's next big collaboration. Debuting later this year, LEGO will release six sets across LEGO and DUPLO featuring builds inspired by the hit show.
