December Editor's Picks

With the holidays looming, you may still be gift shopping, or you might be ready to treat yourself. This month's picks have a little something for everyone, including yourself.

As always, while we genuinely love everything we recommend, a few of these items were gifted.

Moonbuddy from Moonbird

A child’s hand holding a Moonbuddy.

Named one of Time's best inventions of 2025, Moonbuddy is a breath coach and relaxation tool made for kids. The company first launched Moonbird, a similar device for adults, but when the founders discovered that people's kids were using it, they added a junior version to the lineup. Kids hold the toy and follow the gentle rise and fall of Moonbuddy’s round belly to help sync their breathing.

Squishmallows Little Plush 5” 4-Pack

Alt text: Four plush toys shaped like smiling foods, including a watermelon slice, macaron, kiwi and pancakes.

This four-pack includes cheerful food-themed characters—a kiwi, a watermelon, a stack of pancakes and a lemon macaron—that are perfect for stockings. They're adorably small and won't add too much chaos to the already overwhelming pile of stuffies your kid likely has on their bed right now.

Brother Work Smart Wireless Colour Inkjet All-in-One Printer

A black all-in-one inkjet printer printing a color document from the front tray.

I have crafty kids. They've been begging for a colour printer for years, and we've finally given in. The ink for this printer actually doesn't cost more than the printer itself, so I have high hopes it will be worthwhile. It also copies and scans and everyone in the family can connect to it from their devices.

Ebna Medium Crystal Hoops

A pair of small gold hoop earrings set with clear crystals, photographed on a white background.

Not costume jewellery, but not a major investment either, Canadian jewellery brand Pilgrim offers a collection of great-looking earrings, rings, necklaces and bracelets. These gold-plated crystal hoops are safe for sensitive skin and add some sparkle to any outfit. I'll definitely shop Pilgrim again.

Glerups

A pair of teal felt slip-on slippers with a low-profile sole, shown from the side on a white background.

Glerups are felted from ethically-sourced, natural, no-itch wool, and I'm obsessed. I opted for rubber soles so I could wear them outside my house, but I love them too much to sully them. I accidentally wore them outside once and immediately wiped down the soles so I could go back to cuddling up without fear that I'd get dirt on the couch.

Ohuhu 360° Rotating Bamboo Marker Organizer

A wooden desk organizer filled with colorful markers, pens, and colored pencils arranged upright.

Receiving this organizer motivated me to totally clean out our craft supply cupboard. Putting all of our markers, pencil crayons, pencils and paintbrushes in one easy-to-reach place brought me joy. Now I no longer have to field questions about where our pencils are...as long as my kids put them back when they're done. We'll see.
