15 Canadian Kids' Clothing Brands To Shop Right Now

Want to shop Canadian for your kids' clothes? Skip the big box stores and try some of these home-grown brands.

Canadian kids clothing brands

Dressing your kids in stylish, high-quality clothing doesn’t have to mean shopping from big-box U.S. retailers. Canada is home to many kids’ clothing brands that offer trendy, affordable options while keeping more money in our local economy.

For every dollar spent on a Canadian brand, $0.63 stays within our communities, compared to just $0.43 when shopping at big-box stores. So, why not support homegrown talent and find great durable clothes for your kids?

Why buy Canadian?

What does that extra money in our communities do for us and our kids? More money means better funding for public infrastructure, things like schools, community centers, daycares and other essential services.

Going beyond that, shopping Canadian often means our clothes travel a shorter distance from where they were sewn to landing in our closets. Plus, many Canadian fashion brands prioritize sustainable and ethical practices, meaning that they use eco-friendly materials, reduce waste in production and adopt responsible manufacturing processes. This all leads to a reduced strain on our environment and helps make a cleaner future for our kids.

All that being said, the economic and environmental impacts aren’t the only reason to shop Canadian. There is some great talent across our country and the designers highlighted below have unique, stylish designs you can't find anywhere else.

How to spot Canadian brands in stores (in-person and online)

  • Check the label It might sound simple, but the first place to look is the garment tag. Many Canadian-made items will proudly say “Made in Canada” or mention that they source their fabrics locally.
  • Check out the “About Us” page Most brands highlight their Canadian roots on their website. If you see a clear mention of local founders, manufacturing, or a commitment to Canadian materials, that’s usually a strong sign.
  • Look at the contact details A Canadian mailing address, phone number, or even a “.ca” domain name is often a dead giveaway that the brand is based here.
  • Snoop on social Sometimes, going through the brand's tagged Instagram posts or looking at their LinkedIn page can reveal their location. If you see consistent mentions of local events or a Canadian address, you can probably assume it's Canadian.
  • Ask in store If you’re shopping in person, don’t hesitate to ask the staff. Many retailers highlight which brands are Canadian, and they’re often happy to share alternatives to ones that are not.
  • Watch for collaborations Partnerships with Canadian artists, charities, or other local businesses can also clue you in. These collaborations usually reflect a brand’s commitment to supporting its local community.
  • Reach out to the brand directly Finally, if all else fails, reach out to the brand via email or a quick DM to ask where it is located and if it makes its garments in Canada. Nothing beats first-hand confirmation.
