This rub recipe was sent by Todd (BigBaldBBQ) who spent a long time creating and adjusting this rub to get it just right. He said that for the longest time the recipe seemed to be missing something, until one day he tried adding lemon pepper. For the first time, it was perfect.

Both the hoisin sauce and five-spice powder can be found in Chinese grocery stores and in some large supermarkets. There's no real substitute for either, so if you can't find them, make another marinade instead. Great with pork or chicken — or use it to turn an ordinary hamburger into something extraordinary.
