Dressed-Up Kale Chips

Get your kids to eat their greens by making these simple kale chips! Choose from an array of toppings to create a gourmet treat that's totally your own.


  • 1 bunch kale
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt

Optional toppings

  • roasted sesame seeds
  • finely grated Parmesan
  • ground paprika
  • chili powder
  • flaxseeds
  • nutritional yeast
  • brown sugar
  • taco seasoning
  • lemon zest , or lime zest


  • Preheat oven to 250F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Remove stems and tough ribs from kale. Tear into 2-3 inch pieces. Wash and dry very well.Transfer to a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil and salt. Gently massage the kale, being sure to coat all leaves evenly.
  • Lay the kale on the prepared baking sheets in a single layer. Sprinkle with desired toppings.
  • Bake for 10 minutes. Rotate sheets and bake for 10 to 12 more minutes, or until kale is crisp but not brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
