I offer this recipe with sincere apologies to all dentists. We promise to brush our teeth.
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, mix together the sugar and the oil, and cook over low until melted and lightly golden. (This will take about 10 min, so be patient and don’t attempt to hurry the process by turning up the heat.)
- Once the sugar has been melted, quickly stir in the sesame and sunflower seeds, and pour the mixture out onto a greased baking sheet, spreading it evenly with a spatula. It is extremely hot and will harden quickly.
- When the candy is cool and hard, break it up into chunks and store in an airtight container.
