Maple nut no-bake vegan treats

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp nut butter, or seed butted

  • 1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup, or brown rice syrup

  • 1/2 cup quick or rolled oats

  • 1 tbsp ground flax seeds, or hemp seed

Instructions

  • Mix the nut or seed butter with the maple syrup in a small bowl until well mixed.

  • Add oats and flax seeds until the mixture is hard to stir and forms one big ball in your bowl. Add more oats if the mixture is too sticky, or more maple syrup if it is too dry.

  • With your fingers take a teaspoon of the mixture and roll it into a little ball. Repeat with the rest of the mixture and serve!

I made up this super-fast, protein-and-omega-3-packed when I was craving sweets but didn’t have the time to bake. It is ridiculously easy. Bonus: Holden loves it and it is a great little midday snack. I use almond butter because it is rich in calcium, but any nut butter or sunflower seed butter would work.
