These mild, garlicky toasted baguette slices are the ideal base for appetizers (to save even more time, you could buy melba toast rounds or crackers.)
half whole wheat baguette
1 garlic clove
1 tbsp olive oil
Take about half a whole wheat baguette and slice diagonally into 1⁄4 in (0.6 cm) slices; place on a rimmed baking sheet. Rub a raw garlic clove over the surface of each. Brush lightly with 1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil and bake at 350°F (180°C) for 10 minutes. Slather with your choice of toppings and serve.
Makes 30 slices.
