Lightly butter one side of two slices of bread – white or whole wheat. Place a slice of Swiss cheese onto the unbuttered side of a slice of bread, then a slice of cooked ham, then another slice of cheese. Place the second slice of bread on top of that – buttered-side up. Now place the sandwich in a frying pan and cook it until it’s golden brown on both sides, turning once. If you want to be extra French, sprinkle the top of the sandwich with a little shredded Swiss cheese and place it under the broiler for a minute, until melted. Oooo la la!
