Warm Blueberry Sauce
Today's Parent
Make this blueberry sauce the night before and reheat it in the microwave when you want to serve it.
Ingredients

1/4 cup
water

1/4 cup
granulated sugar

1 tbsp
freshly squeezed
lemon juice

2 cups
blueberries
, (fresh, or thawed frozen)
Thickener

2 tsp
cornstarch

1 tbsp
water
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the 1/4 cup (50 mL) water, sugar and lemon juice. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring, just until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in the blueberries and let the mixture simmer for 2 or 3 minutes, until the blueberries are softened.
- In a small bowl, stir together the cornstarch with 1 tbsp. (15 mL) water. Add this mixture to the blueberries and cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens. Let cool slightly before serving.
