Chocolate-Coconut Tarantulas

There’s nothing like a nice crunchy platter of tarantulas after a long day of ghostbusting. Eat them quickly before they crawl off the plate.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chocolate chips

  • 1 cup chow mein noodles

  • 1 cup finely shredded coconut

Instructions

  • Melt chocolate chips in a heavy saucepan over low, or in the microwave on high power for 1 1/2 to 2 min. Stir until smooth. Add noodles and coconut and stir until everything is evenly coated in chocolate.

  • Line a baking sheet with waxed paper. Spoon tbsps of tarantula mixture onto prepared tray and arrange noodles so they look like spider legs.

  • Refrigerate tarantulas until firm.

Tip:

Take advantage of any available laboratory assistants to help in spider construction. It’s a revolting job, but somebody has to do it.
