Saucy beef taco filling

Missed Cinco de Mayo? This easy beef recipe makes taco night a breeze any day of the year!

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp canola oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 500 g lean ground beef

  • 1/4 cup tomato paste

  • 1 tbsp Tex-Mex seasoning, such as Clubhouse

  • 1 tsp granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp salt


Instructions

Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add oil, then garlic and onion. Cook until onion is soft, 3 to 4 min. Crumble in beef. Cook, stirring occasionally, until beef is no longer pink, 4 to 5 min. Add 1/4 cup water, tomato paste, seasoning, sugar and salt. Stir until warmed through, 2 to 3 min.
