Although this is easy enough for a kid to make, it isn’t really a child’s mustard. Unless, like Jared, your child enjoys startling adults by eating the unexpected. A little sweet, a little spicy, very delicious.
3 eggs
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup dry mustard
1/3 cup water
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
salt, to taste
In a heavy saucepan, combine all ingredients and whisk together well.
Cook the mixture on the stove over very low, stirring or whisking constantly, until smooth and thick.
Pour into jars and refrigerate. This mustard will keep for several weeks.
