1 1/4 cups chopped pitted dates
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
pinch salt
2 1/2 cups crisp rice cereal
1/2 cup toasted sesame seeds
Combine dates, honey, orange juice, butter, cinnamon and salt in a small pot over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook, stirring, for 5 min or until mixture is thick and shiny and reduced to just more than 1 cup. Scrape into a bowl, add rice cereal and stir until fully combined.
Place bowl in the refrigerator for 30 min or until cooled to room temperature.
Use a spoon to scoop out bite-sized balls (about the size of a cherry).
Put sesame seeds in a shallow bowl and roll balls in them to coat. Chill in the refrigerator until completely firm.
