Basil Tossed with Pasta

- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves , minced
- 1 small pinch hot-pepper flakes , (optional)
- cooked linguine
- 1/2 cup reserved pasta cooking water
- 1 tsp grated lemon zest
- torn basil leaves
- salt , to taste
- black pepper , to taste
- Heat olive oil; add minced garlic and pinch chili flakes (optional), and sizzle for 30 seconds.
- Toss with cooked linguine, plus reserved pasta cooking water, lemon zest, some torn basil leaves, and salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
