Basil Tossed with Pasta


  • Makesto servings


  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 small pinch hot-pepper flakes, (optional)

  • cooked linguine

  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta cooking water

  • 1 tsp grated lemon zest

  • torn basil leaves

  • salt, to taste

  • black pepper, to taste


  • Heat olive oil; add minced garlic and pinch chili flakes (optional), and sizzle for 30 seconds.

  • Toss with cooked linguine, plus reserved pasta cooking water, lemon zest, some torn basil leaves, and salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
